We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role you will:

Relationship management responsibility/Nature of the Job
  • Obtain introductions to the Private Bank's client base through close working relationship established with the relationship managers
  • Analysis of clients' circumstances, assets, objectives and preferences in order to develop a tailored and effective service
  • Structuring of off/onshore/cross border common and civil law solutions
  • Dealing with UK RND structuring issues
  • UK RND Training
  • Facilitate the implementation of solutions by TFS Fiduciary Services Units or other internal or external service suppliers
  • Training and motivation of bankers on all aspects of TFS structured solutions
  • Provision of support to bankers within HSBC requiring WPA expertise or services
  • Can be called upon to fulfill special tasks

Product Knowledge Level
  • Maintain and continue to develop a sound knowledge of planning opportunities, and relevant products and services available from Group sources and elsewhere in order to provide the best possible solution for the clients and to build L-T relationships with clients and their legal and tax advisers

New Business Development responsibility level
  • Marketing to pre-profiled clients and prospects.
  • Promotion of WPA value proposition within HSBC

Supervision/guidance given and supervision/guidance received
  • Manage and develop junior staff to enable them to fulfil their own potential and maximize their contribution to the bank

Compliance
  • Ensure the Bank's position is protected in terms of Compliance and Legal issues and that Group and Regulatory Guidelines (particularly as are found in the Functional Instruction Manual, the Money Laundering Prevention Procedures, and policies and procedures) are adhered to, strictly and in spirit, such that the reputation and goodwill of the Group is protected.

Professional Awareness
  • Maintain an understanding of economic/business/tax/property/legal/compliance and other relevant matters to a standard that is commensurate with the exacting nature of the existing and target customer base
  • Act as a good ambassador and work towards the best interests of PBRS and the Group as a whole in all dealings with internal and external personnel

Networking
  • Develop network of Group and External professional contacts with the aim of (a) maximizing value added to clients (b) enhancing technical knowledge and (c) promoting the good name of the Group
  • Establish close working relationships with lawyers, financial planners and tax advisors


To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
  • Will be a Private Client Lawyer, Chartered Tax Adviser or Qualified Accountant by training
  • Ideally with have experience working in a comparable private bank
  • Expert understanding of generational planning and wealth structuring principles
  • Working knowledge on the use of trusts, foundations, insurance, collective investment vehicles, and corporate entities and how they can implement value added solutions to the Private Bank's clients
  • Strong knowledge of UK RND legislation and practices
  • Strong understanding of banking issues encountered by UK RND clients
  • An appreciation of the UK taxation of banking investments
  • Strong international tax knowledge
  • Strong cultural awareness and will be required to travel
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships - within HSBC Private Bank, the Group and professional groups externally
  • Ideally, experience of addressing Family Governance and Philanthropy opportunities for UHNW clients
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, and strong business closing skills.
  • University graduate with approx 10+ years relevant, post-graduate experience
  • Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
