We are looking for a highly motivated ESG Specialist to join our Graduate Trainee Program within our Private Clients ESG Center which is part of our Wealth Management business unit at Vontobel.

The team focuses on developing ESG know-how, project management and implementation, operative support and training as well as advise to Relationship Manager and clients in all ESG matters. The team works close together with several units within Wealth Management, Asset Management and the Vontobel Centers of Excellence.

As ESG Specialist, you will benefit from the full Graduate Trainee Program offerings during your time at Vontobel, such as a Mentor, a great community of other Trainees, a Trainee Learning & Development schedule & your own educational budget just to name a few. In addition, you will see various teams and functions within the Vontobel Group.

You will...

• Your first module rotation will be in your home base "Private Clients ESG Center" in Wealth Management
• Then you have the possibility to choose up to three out of the following modules: "Asset Management ESG center"; "Vontobel Multi Asset ESG Strategy"; "Investment Advisory & Solutions"; "Non-financial risk"; "Corporate Responsibility". One module lasts 6 months on average.
• Obtain a broad understanding of ESG investment process, ESG research, client and corporate reporting, ESG regulation as well as ESG data and tools.
• Have the chance to optionally obtain a qualification like the certificate in ESG investing or the certificate in climate and investing from the CFA institute.
• Due to the breadth of the rotations you will be in a unique position to build a strong network across the firm.

• October 1st 2023 and conclude the program September 30th 2025

Program Mentor ....

• Patrick Häsler will be your Program Mentor. Patrick has a long track-record within Vontobel. Before joining Vontobel in 2005, Patrick worked as Software Developer and IT Consultant. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering as well as an MBA. In 2005, Patrick started at Vontobel in the Corporate Business Development team. From there, he joined the Wealth Management Product Management team, where he was responsible for a variety of products and services. Amongst other things, he was responsible for sustainable investing in Wealth Management. As Patrick is working for more than 17 years for Vontobel, he knows the organization very well.

Your Qualification
Your background includes...

• A Masters degree (university or university of applied sciences), you are eligible with up to a maximum of 24 months of work experience after your Masters
• A study background in sustainable finance or a similar topic
• At least one work experience in the financial industry

• A curious person, with an analytical and structured mindset
• A team player, able to work under pressure
• A pro-active person
• Willing to complete additional training courses
• Fluent in English (German is a plus)
