For our client, a leading bank and top player in its field, we are looking for a Senior Credit Officer for their office in Zurich. A key element of this position is to guarantee the independent assessment of the credit risks as well as of the ESG throughout the credit process and until the maturity of the credit, in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines. - Ensure that the quality of commitments taken are in line with the Bank's risk appetite principles as well as with the Bank's credit policies and procedures including Compliance and ESG aspects
- Guarantee the compliance of credit decisions with ESG sectorial policies, exclusion and monitoring lists
- Apply principles where relevant as well as internal procedures including Group CSR procedures and guidelines
- Identify and highlight ESG risks & other related matters in credit committees
- Ensure satisfactory level of risk anticipation by using external and internal early warning
- signals, by pro-actively identifying deteriorating risks and closely monitoring Watchlist
- files and performing or proposing periodic and targeted portfolio reviews
- Fair valuation of the credit portfolio
- The satisfactory circulation of information between the territories covering her/his geographical responsibilities and HO as well as communication between territories and with the relevant sectorial Risk Officer
- Set up the general and specific credit policies, through ad-hoc contributions, and to distribute information on the Bank's desired risk profile to relevant teams
- Determine country envelopes on risky countries, to monitor the utilizations of these envelopes, and the possible reallocation of these envelopes between the Business lines
- Ensure that Annual Reviews are performed on a yearly basis, in a timely manner, exerting their influence on Coverage and Business Lines and following up on the calendar of
- reviews with the aim to respect the 0% past-due target
- Support the validation process for new products or activities
- Apply, adapt and continue the improvement of the credit decision process
- Contribute to the development of dedicated portfolio reviews on corporate perimeter when requested
- Contribute to Risk Policy Committees/Strategic Risk Reviews
- 5 years of experience in a similar role, background in Corporate Banking is a must
- You are a rigorous, dynamic, and client-oriented individual who thrives within a team environment
- You're known for your organization skills with the ability to multitask and prove yourself to be resilient, delivering results in a timely manner
- Skilled communicator internally and externally
- English is mandatory, German and French skills are a plus
