Our cash management sales managers provide a single coverage point for international clients. With our global capabilities and footprint, vast expertise and local knowledge, our Cash Management Sales specialists connect clients to the products and services that meet their financial needs.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

The role will report functionally and entity wise to the Country Head of GLCM, based in Zurich.

In this role you will:
  • Work in close partnership with Relationship Managers and the wider GLCM teams to identify and develop business opportunities, jointly formulate client engagement strategy to acquire new to bank opportunities and deepen the HSBC cash management wallet share globally.
  • Adopt a consultative and advisory approach to understand customer requirements and provide cash management solutions that meet those requirements.
  • Effectively coordinate and collaborate with the HSBC teams across markets and functions to develop appropriate solutions, deliver sales proposals.
  • Proactively collaborate with global and regional stakeholders to develop a deal pipeline that is coordinated with Coverage and prioritised according to opportunity and value to HSBC.
  • Deliver the financial and non-financial targets assigned.
  • Work closely with the GLCM Implementation, Integration and Client Service teams to ensure smooth transition of client mandate into realised revenues, as well as to provide ongoing coverage in response to clients' evolving challenges and requirements.
  • Advise and update clients and relationship management teams on market trends, competitors landscape, regulatory changes etc. to help respond to emerging customer needs and opportunities.
  • Consistently role model the Sales Manager competencies, providing guidance and coaching to other team members and Relationship Managers where necessary.
  • Feedback to the GLCM Product teams on the competitive market landscape and client specific requirements, to help drive product enhancements and developments as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other product partners (Global Trade and Receivables Finance, Global Markets, Asset Management, etc.) to present holistic solutions to our clients.
  • Maintain comprehensive sales records in a timely manner to allow tracking of sales performance and quality.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

Previous knowledge and experience:
  • 8-10 years of experience of global cash management techniques, market, trends, competitive and regulatory environments.
  • Experience in managing complex corporate relationships in client facing roles and in driving revenue growth, demonstrating an understanding of risk management, structures, products and processes.
  • Experience in managing multiple countries and complex deals across regions.
  • Detailed knowledge of day to day workings of a Corporate Treasury.
  • Extensive knowledge of Cash Management products: payments & collections, liquidity management, ESG, corporate cards, connectivity, etc.
  • Proven sales record with demonstrable evidence of successful selling of large/complex transactions to major customers.
  • Operating on a cross regional and cross functional basis.
  • Dealing with customers at senior executive level.
  • Working under pressure with Key Performance Indicators in a fast growing and fast moving environment.
  • Experience in formulating and articulating sales strategies.


Qualifications and/or training courses (preferred but not essential)
  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or relevant disciplines.
  • Association of Corporate Treasurers International Certificate in Cash Management.
  • Association of the Chartered Institute of Bankers or other recognised professional qualification.

Managerial, Technical and Interpersonal skills:
  • Ability to communicate and build strong working relationships at all levels of senior and executive management both within the HSBC Group, and in customer organisations (Treasurer, Financial Director, and CFO).
  • Strong commercial orientation combined with a customer driven approach.
  • Highly motivated and achievement driven.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.

  • Fluency in written and verbal professional English is mandatory.
  • Fluency in German, French or other languages will be a plus.
  • Due to immigration restrictions in Switzerland we will only be able to consider applications from Swiss or EU citizens or from candidates holding a valid Swiss work permit.
  • The base location of this role is Zurich, flexible working options are available, however candidates need to be able to travel to client meetings across Switzerland and the region frequently.
