This is a truly propitious time for the organization—one that includes opportunities to increase the variety of products and brands among its assortment of fashion, designer, home, beauty, and food concepts as well as to continue advancing a workplace culture where employees coalesce meaningfully around shared values and act as a united team. Hudson’s Bay is staunchly committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all its forms and has an abiding commitment to removing barriers to access and opportunity. It is within this context that Hudson’s Bay invites applications for the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO)—a position that will have an indelible impact on the continued growth and success of the organization.
Reporting to the President, the Chief Financial Officer will lead the finance function and drive business growth and profitability targets. As a trusted partner and adviser to others on the senior leadership team as well as the North American corporate office, the incoming leader will bring: a proven track-record of developing strategic and financial planning; setting and executing strategic growth initiatives; and, developing strong relationships across all areas of the business to drive key market objectives. The successful candidate will bring: authenticity; innovation and curiosity to their leadership approach; excellent communication skills; a business-partner focus and a strong sense of collaboration; financial and business acumen; and, the ability to lead in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. While all candidates are encouraged to apply—and in doing so, share how they see themselves adding value to the Hudson’s Bay environment—the following credentials and/or experiences are seen as possible markers for a candidate most likely to realize success in the role: a) several years of experience in senior finance roles; b) experience with financial controls and compliance; c) a proven ability to gain buy-in and trust, negotiate, and resolve conflict and; d) post-secondary education in a relevant field (business administration, accounting, finance, economics, data-science, etc.) as well as an accounting designation (CA, CPA).
