Reporting to the President, the Chief Financial Officer will lead the finance function and drive business growth and profitability targets. As a trusted partner and adviser to others on the senior leadership team as well as the North American corporate office, the incoming leader will bring: a proven track-record of developing strategic and financial planning; setting and executing strategic growth initiatives; and, developing strong relationships across all areas of the business to drive key market objectives. The CFO is a central figure in all finance-related matters and is the primary conduit for the Canadian business unit into the corporate-level finance organization. 

The successful candidate will bring: authenticity; innovation and curiosity to their leadership approach; excellent communication skills; a business-partner focus and a strong sense of collaboration; financial and business acumen; and, the ability to lead in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. While all candidates are encouraged to apply—and in doing so, share how they see themselves adding value to the Hudson’s Bay environment—the following credentials and/or experiences are seen as possible markers for a candidate most likely to realize success in the role: a) several years of experience in senior finance roles; b) experience with financial controls and compliance; c) a proven ability to gain buy-in and trust, negotiate, and resolve conflict and; d) post-secondary education in a relevant field (business administration, accounting, finance, economics, data-science, etc.) as well as an accounting designation (CA, CPA).
