Your opportunity
- Analyse investment portfolio performance across all asset classes, at aggregate and constituent levels, on both absolute and relative bases, as well as against peers/competitors.
- Provide an independent critique and appraisal of investment performance to investment teams, deploying quantitative performance attribution methodologies.
- Monitor ex-post performance parameters and escalate issues where required.
- Take responsibility for regular performance analysis and reporting obligations.
- Deliver or support delivery of ad hoc performance analysis requests.
- Participate in regular formal investment performance reviews with investment teams (portfolio managers, investment boutique heads) and senior management.
- Support and contribute to interactions with clients, consultants, regulators and auditors in the capacity of subject matter expert on investment performance.
- Collaborate as required with other functions, including Portfolio Managers, Product Development, Data, Reporting and Investment Control.
You bring
- A quantitative and finance-related education: a degree in a quantitative subject (e.g. economics, finance, science, engineering, mathematics). A CFA or other industry qualification would be an advantage.
- An asset class and financial instrument knowledge: a good all-round understanding of fixed-income, equities, FX and derivative securities performance characteristics.
- Knowledge of the concepts of performance measurement and attribution.
- Data and programming skills: experience of using Excel and Excel VBA, Python, Java, SQL, Tableau, databases etc to access, manipulate and report/display quantitative data.
- A first-hand experience of performance systems (e.g. Bloomberg PORT, StatPro, Charles River CRIMS, MSCI BarraOne)

- Willing to work closely with colleagues in the Zürich-based Risk and Performance analytics team, as well as colleagues in other teams and locations
- Motivated and able to work independently and be effective in leading a collaborative effort
- Driven by the desire to solve problems, taking initiative to obtain the required information where necessary, innovating where appropriate and following issues though the resolution and hand-over to suitable responsible parties
- Excited by new challenges in a growing and dynamic environment
- Skillful in working with numbers, with a solid theoretical knowledge of investment performance measurement and attribution (various asset classes)
