The roles
We are looking for two junior analysts to work in Redburn's Equity Research team within the Financials sector. One role would be to support the team focusing on Banks stocks, and the other would focus on Capital Markets. It is our intention that the candidates will take on stock coverage at a later stage. Initially the roles will comprise -
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
Hours of work
7am to 5pm with a one hour break for lunch.
Package
Competitive City market-rate salary plus discretionary cash bonus paid annually. Private Health and Life Insurance. Access to online training and development platforms. Nine per cent company contribution to pension scheme. Twenty-five days' holiday per annum rising by one day for each full years' service, up to a maximum of thirty days after five years' service.

- Maintaining and updating industry models, collecting and analysing new data (to support new ideas or reports)
- Maintaining and updating client presentations
- Monitoring sector news flow
- Building a working understanding of UK, European and US companies
- Drafting earnings results comments (key points)
- Distributing news comments via email / Bloomberg
- Responding to client requests for data / information
- Attending client and company meetings, and industry conferences
- Calling companies for data / information and building relationships with companies' investor relations teams
- Keeping track of earnings calendar /other important dates
- Using all of the above to build experience and understanding of the industry, and company-specific knowledge
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
- Degree level education (2.1 or above) in any subject
- ACA qualification (preferred)
- CFA qualification with good valuation knowledge (preferred)
- Strong coding/database experience (Python, SQL)
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to engage day-to-day with our Salespeople and Sales Traders, including making ad hoc presentations to them
- The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate intellectual flair, independent thinking, initiative, self-sufficiency and ambition with a passion for equity markets
- Minimum 3 years' relevant work experience (may include training towards ACA qualification)
